This week marked a proud milestone for People Properties Limited (PPL) here in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

We completed our very first official street closure as a real estate developer and builder. The focus was on one of the most brutal and complicated parts of building construction – the underground pipe work. On an older street with cast iron pipes, we connected the project to HRM’s sewer system and next week were connecting to Halifax Water Commission’s water and stormwater lines.

Even with rain forecast for the entire week, our team went full tilt. We coordinated closely with HRM and the Halifax Water Commission, followed every required procedure, and executed with precision. I’m happy to share that we passed our sewer inspection on Friday.

Once this underground phase is finished, we’ll move straight into the superstructure – where the building will really start to take shape.

None of this progress would be possible without our outstanding partners. As a developer, one of our most important jobs is to carefully select the right people to work with – those we can fully trust. When you choose strong partners in the construction and renovation industry, everyone gets better. We make each other stronger, and the project benefits as a result.

At People Properties Limited, this is how we operate. Whether it’s real estate development, building, or renovation projects across Halifax and Nova Scotia, we stay proactive, build solid relationships, and keep momentum going – even when the economy and the weather make things challenging.

We’re extremely grateful to everyone who helped make this street closure smooth and successful. These are the moments that build confidence in what we’re creating.

We’ll keep sharing updates as we head into the next exciting phase. Stay tuned – there’s a lot more to come.
