The pace at Project Avaleen continues to accelerate, and the progress on site has been incredible. After months of planning, excavation, foundations, and concrete work, our framing crews are now moving through the superstructure at full speed.
Our current objective is ambitious: complete every remaining wall on this level in just two days. By staying ahead of schedule, we’ll be ready for the crane to return on Wednesday and Thursday to install the engineered floor systems, allowing us to begin construction of the final residential level.
This is one of the most exciting stages of any multi-family construction project. With each level completed, the building begins to take its final shape, transforming months of planning into something our future tenants, the Halifax community, and everyone following the project can finally visualize.
Building Smarter and Faster
Every construction project presents opportunities to improve efficiency. Rather than stopping to complete the concrete over-pour after each level, we’ve adjusted our sequencing to keep the framing operation moving continuously. Once the framing is complete, we’ll return with a line pump to place the concrete over-pour all at once, eliminating unnecessary downtime and keeping our crews productive.
This approach allows us to maintain momentum while ensuring the finished product meets the high standards that People Properties Limited expects from every residential development.
Trades Working Together
One of the best signs of a well-managed construction site is seeing multiple trades working in harmony. As our framers move upward, our plumbing crews are following closely behind.
Work has progressed from the underground parkade drainage and mechanical systems to installing the vertical plumbing sleeves that will service each floor above. This coordinated effort ensures every stage of building construction is ready for the next, minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency.
It’s rewarding to see months of engineering, design, and coordination come together exactly as planned.
Eyes on the Roof
Once this floor system is installed, there is only one direction left to go—up.
The next major milestone is reaching the roof, marking the completion of the building’s structural frame. From there, attention will shift toward enclosing the building, mechanical systems, exterior finishes, and ultimately creating modern homes that future residents will be proud to call home.
